"The Perfect Storm"

I just got finished watching this movie and boy what a movie it was!

Although I am quite drawn to the "romance" of living in a fishing village and fishing for a living this movie showed something quite different! I won't give away the ending for those of you who haven't seen the movie yet!

I will say that the movie does take place in the Massachusetts area and I believe that is the same area where Martha's Vineyard is!

Although I haven't fished in a long time I am longing to do so again!

I think that this movie is sad, uplifting at some points but I really fell in love with the scenery and there are men and women out there who's passion and soul lies in the fishing profession!

And I salute them all!

Greece, Sicily!

This is an absolutely stunning picture from a photography blog where the photography takes pictures of their area which is the Greece and Sicilian areas.

I have only had a chance to glance at this particular blog but that first picture was so good that I thought that I would recommend it here since the entire blog provides very good scenic photos of the areas. (However I should warn you that since this is a photography blog the entire blog may take some time to load!)

What better way to be a "Couch Traveler" then to view photos from the comfort of your own computer - LOL!

Scotland

I found a very likeable blog today about Scotland. It's called Travel To My Scotland and I liked it right away because there are some gorgeous pictures of Scotland that are included on the blog.

Scotland (and Ireland) is one of the places on my wish list places to visit!

Why? Because there is just something that I like about these areas - the castles, the greenery of it all and of course there are quite a few romantic movies that have UK as their backdrop.

So I intend to visit this blog again and again! Besides loving the pictures that are posted I just like finding out more about the area...........

New York Transit Fares To Go Up?

There's a rumor going around that the fare may be increasing for New York City's subway riders!

It might be possible that the subway fare will increase from $2 to $2.50!

The transit system is facing a billion dollar deficit and is seeking bailout options and if they don't get them then they will face the possibility of having to raise the base subway fare.


Other transit-related services may be cut as well!

The Running Of The Bulls?

Although this doesn't seem to be a webcam picture it is quite a good one!

I have always heard about the "running of the bulls" on TV and I believe this event happens somewhere in Spain!

It also looks quite dangerous!

Hawaii

I was trying to find a good webcam picture of Hawaii and so far this is the best of the bunch! This is in Maui! A lot of the webcam pictures that I have of Hawaii are pictures of the surf line and ocean!

Still, even with this webcam picture it does look like the people who are on the beach are enjoying themselves.

Hawaii is one of the places that I would like to travel to. Their scenery always looks gorgeous! But I have heard that it is very expensive to travel there, much less LIVE there!
